Guist Creek Reservoir is located on U.S. 60 east of Shelbyville. It is a recreational lake owned an operated by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, and also serves as the water supply for the City, population 6,600, and residents of surrounding Shelby County. The Labyrinth Spillway is quite an unusual sight, giving the appearance of an enormous concrete saw-tooth, when viewed from the highway below.
